The death toll from last week's floods and landslides, triggered by late monsoon rains, has reached 244, with 19 people still missing. According to Rishiram Tiwari, spokesperson for the Ministry of Home Affairs, 179 others were injured during the disaster.

So far, rescue teams have saved 17,174 people from affected areas. Relief efforts are ongoing, focusing on providing aid to survivors and repairing damaged roads and highways.

Tiwari also mentioned that financial assistance for temporary housing will be distributed once details of survivors are collected. Local authorities have been providing food and other necessities to the affected families.

The government has given Rs. 200,000 to families who lost a loved one in the disaster. So far, 160 families have received this support through the District Disaster Management Fund.
