Global Peace Foundation Nepal Opens Women Education Center



Global Peace Foundation Nepal officially opened the  Global peace Women (GPW)Education Center in Bhairabee Secondary School located in Sunaula Bazar of Nilkantha Municipality, Dhading District on 31st October, 2017. GPW Education Center, which is built in partnership with Service for Peace, aims to transform the lives of women, was officially opened and handed over to the school in the presence of some 200 women, local leaders, teachers and students.

Udav Rijal, Ward President, serves as the Chief Guest of the program, expressed in his speech, "Everyone is aware of the vital role of education in their life. Education centers can be a helpful way to explore such potential, so I hope that you will make use of it."

Bambie Panta, GPW Nepal representative shared, “The education center was initiated by Global Peace Women to uplift the value of women and raise women leaders. We believe that when women are empowered the whole family will also be empowered. I hope the women in this community will take ownership of the education center and lead the community to promote peace starting from home and I hope all the men present here today will support the women to transform their families and community.”

Eka Kumari Shrestha, who attended the program said , "I am excited to learn many skills and get several training inside the new women education center. I want to thank Global Peace Women for building it for us."

"We expect the women education center to bring sisters and mothers closer to form a beautiful bond of womanhood and work in community with a sense of unity and harmony. If the center guarantees that, I am pretty sure, it will provide women with the motivation and energy that they are seeking for," said  Ram Maya Rana Magar, a local resident.

GPW Education center will run leadership and entrepreneurship skills development; awareness and hygiene and sanitation program and will be taken cared by the local women themselves.The center will have free access to all the women residing in Neelakantha municipality of ward no: 6.
