Business Plan Competition in GEMS School



GEMS School has organized a Business Plan Competition among its students of grades XI and XII, Management Stream on 22 Dec in Dhapakhel,Lalitpur . There were 27 students who took part in this program in 6 groups. These groups of students had their own separate business plans. These plans were, Meals on Wheels: Industry of Fast Food, Dog’s Inn: Industry of Pet Grooming, Shringar: Industry of Décor and Interior Designing, R3 Paper Bags: Industry of Paper Bag, Quarter Restaurant Lounge and Bar: Industry of Restaurant and Lounge, Dynamic Heavy Rubber: Industry of Conveyor Belts.

The Executive Director of GEMS Group,Barun Khadka welcomed the guests of honour and expressed his gratitude and thankfulness to them for giving their prized time to be the judges of the program.

These business plans were demonstrated by the respective group leader along with their co-presenters. The program was witnessed and evaluated by the panel of judges, where Bharat Raj Acharya, the founder present of TSN Business Group and FNCCI Co-Chair employer council, Dambar Shahu, CEO of Mountain TV and Business TV, Bhesh Raj Khatiwada, Chief Risk Officer, Prabhu Bank, Amit Agrawal, CEO of Sparrow SMS and Asgar Ali, Co-founder and CEO of e-Sewa were the members in the panel.

In the welcome speech delivered by the academic coordinator of Management Stream, Chiranjibi Niroula said, “ GEMS School does not only make students to learn the curriculum of the levels but it also ever leads its students towards innovation and creativity by forming the additional and practical curriculum itself“. According to him students always involve in extra mileage of the prescribed curriculum and they will be able to lead them to touch the real situations of life learning process by challenging a new time and a new day.

The presenter of “Meal and Wheel” business plan, Abheek Pradhan emphasized to operate his business to address the need of fast food on the street in a mobile manner. Likewise, the presenter of Dog’s Inn, Anustha Chakradhar demonstrated to open her industry to provide the holistic services during the day time to the dog of those elite class people who like to take this service. R3 Paper Bags presenter, Rahul Bista and his group demonstrated to bring the paper bags to replace the use of plastic bags.

The leader of Quarter Restaurant and lounge, Kritika Shrestha highlighted to open such a restaurant where she would not only provide quality food but also impressive lesson oriented services to improve the quality life of the clients. The panel of the judges evaluated and declared the business plan-Dynamic Heavy Rubber Industry (DHRI) as the best plan and awarded the first prize for it. The presenter of DHRI claimed, ‘His business will be the pioneer one in Nepal and provide the quality belt in an affordable cost”.

In the program of about 3 hours long, the judges shared their impression that the program was highly praiseworthy and such business plans could be only expected to be performed by the students of Master level and expressed their gratitude to the young and juvenile students of GEMS as they became very successful ii bringing such innovative program in their levels.

Pouring the words of votes of thanks, the CEO of GEMS Group, Dr. Balvadra Adhikari announced that the institution will invest on the best and investable business plan of students from institution side to make the dream of students successful.
