20 years old vehicles ban from today



Government has announced to ban all types of vehicles which are more than 20 years old from today in countrywide.

The government has executed a policy to ban public vehicles crossing 20 years of operation and authorities will seize any such vehicles found on the roads.

It is estimated that out of more than 5,500 vehicles across the country 2,200 Vehicles are over 20-years old.

On February 28 last year, the cabinet banned public vehicles older than 20 years from operating inside Kathmandu valley, but was not implemented.

Old public vehicles made people prone to accidents and they were also one of the main causes of pollution.
