2016 World wood Day theme “Nature and culture”

 



 

 

World wood day is celebrating to raise awareness of wood as an eco-friendly renewable biomaterial and demonstrate key role of wood in sustainable future.

2016 world wood Day (WWD) themed "Nature and Culture" celebrating in March third week (March 21) at National Academic Hall. World wood day is celebrating to raise awareness of wood as an eco-friendly renewable biomaterial and demonstrate key role of wood in sustainable future.

The celebration of wood day began from Tanazania in 2013, casting special attention to cultural approach in wood.

Event is jointly organized by the Ministry of Forest and soil Conservation, Government of Nepal, and the International wood culture society (IWCS). The Secretariat for the event is IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature).

A series of programs are catered to feast local community, including woodcraft and Exhibition ,wood Architecture ,wood Design , Wooden Music ,Folk Art , symposium , children Event ,social Interactions with seniors , Tree planting and wood culture Documentary filming Project.

2016 world wood Day are expected from over 100 countries and regions to share their unique explanation of wood with focus on Nepal's unique wood culture.
