NCSMI concern Trump’s exit from Climate Agreement

Nepalese Civil Society Mountain Initiative (NCSMI ) has been handed over A Letter of Concern to Stephanie Reed, Deputy Political and Economic Chief, Political and Economic Section at Embassy of the United States of America, Kathmandu concerning Trump’s exit from Paris Climate Agreement.


The team of NCSMI lead by Min Bahadur Shahi on Monday handed over a letter to express a deep concern on USA's exit from the Paris climate agreement.


Min Bahadur Shahi, Coordinator of NCSMI told that we strongly concern Donald Trump’s decision of withdrawing the Paris Climate Agreement. He further added Leaving Paris climate agreement is direct attack and threat to the poor and vulnerable community of mountains and other countries.


Stephanie Reed, told that the concerned of the mountain community on USA’s withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement will be sent to the President Donald Trump’s office at Washington D.C.


Exiting from the Paris Climate Agreement is a direct attack and threat to the poor and vulnerable community of mountains and other countries as mention in the letter of concern.  Lal Chandra Buda from Dolpa told to Stephanie Reed that climate change is already impacting their lives and further, this decision will have stark impacts on their lives and livelihood of the poor and vulnerable frontline communities of the region.


Nepalese Civil Society Mountain Initiative in a network of Civil Society formed in 2014 during RARA Climate Conference, Rara, Karnali. This network advocates mountain issues in Climate Change. KIRDARC hosts the Secretariat of the network.
