Nepali Rhinos swept away to India



Two rhinos that were swept away by flood in the Rapti River at Chitwan National Park (CNP) have been found in India.

Two rhinos were spotted around 42 km south –west of the park near Bagaha in India.

According to the information officer at CNP Nurendra Aryal, one rhino was found in Bagaha, India and another in Balmiki Nagar. Aryal said," we are in the process of returning those rhinos to Nepal."

Similarly, four others have been seen in Nawalparasi’s Narsahi, Triveni Buffer Area and Balmiki Ashram, inside Nepal.

Six Deers and a one-horned rhino were killed by flood in Nawalparasi district.
